MATHEMATICS

The Department of the Mathematics is one of the oldest departments which maintain a good record of service from its inception in 1967. B.Sc and M.Sc. Mathematics Programmes were started in 1967 and 1980 respectively. The department was elevated into a research department in the year 2005-2006 by offering M.Phil (Full Time & Part Time). Ph.D. (Full Time & Part Time) Programme offered in the year 2012.

Of the 10 qualified staff members, eight are in regular vacancies and two are in the unaided stream. One of the staff members have Ph.D., as their highest qualification, seven are M.Philians , six are qualified CSIR-NET/SET examination.

One of the staff members is served as the College NCC Officer who is reverentially designated as the Major. Also, one of the staff members served as NSS officer for more than 10 years and helped the college in conducting university exams for more than 15 years as controller of examination of this college. The department has its exemplary representation in the College Examination Section, Students Grievance Redressal Cell, Sports Council, Career Guidance and Placement Cell, Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the College NAAC Committee.

In the year 2014, the department was Nationally Identified as a Department with Potential for award of FIST Grant by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Government of India.

The department feels proud of having highly qualified faculty members actively engaged in Teaching, Research, Continuing education programmes and Consultancy. The staff members of the department guided more than 50 research scholars who were awarded M.Phil. Degree and one Ph.D Degree. Published research papers in National and International Journals and presented many research papers in National and International Conferences.

B.Sc. Mathematics

PSO1 - Employ their Mathematical skills to translate the given verbal information into Mathematical representations.
PSO2 - Demonstrate their analytical and computational skills in solving Mathematical problems in various disciplines.
PSO3 - Apply both quantitative and qualitative knowledge for their future career.

M.Sc. Mathematics

PSO1 - Create Mathematical models to solve Real world problems in appropriate context’s.
PSO2 - Recognize the connection between theory and application.
PSO3 - Communicate different Mathematical concepts to other disciplines and society, precisely and effectively.
PSO4 - Apply both quantitative and qualitative knowledge for their future higher studies and NET/SLET/GATE/NBHM and other competitive exams.

M.Phil. Mathematics

PSO1 - Create Mathematical models to solve Real world problems in appropriate context’s
