The Independence Day was celebrated in C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam, with a ceremonial parade. The Principal, Dr. S. A. Sajid, hoisted the National flag and he gave a salute along with gathering. The flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by the NCC officer, Lt. Dr. K. Jahir Hussain. The contingent performed the parade under the command of CPL. Mohamed Muzammil of IIIrd B.Sc., Chemistry. About 100 teaching & non-teaching staff and 150 cadets & students were participated in the programme. Saplings were planted by principal, NCC officer and by cadets.
