The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam, with a ceremonial parade. The Principal, Dr. S. Zaheer Ahmed, hoisted the National Flag and took the salute. Senior Professor and Dean of Humanities, Dr. P. Mohamed Vaseem, accompanied the Principal.
The flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by the NCC Officer, Captain Dr. K. Jahir Hussain. The contingent performed the parade under the command of L/Cpl. N. Sridhar of III B.A. History.
The teaching and non-teaching staff members along with 104 cadets and college students, participated in the program. Guests, especially local children from Melvisharam, enthusiastically joined the ceremony.
