74th Republic Day 26 Jan 2023

The 74th Republic Day was celebrated in C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam, with a ceremonial parade. The Secretary & correspondent Alijanab Alhaj S. Z. Abrar Ahmed Sahib, unfurled the National flag and inspected the guard contingent and took the salute. Guard of honour was presented by the NCC cadets under the command of SUO. T. S. Mohamed Muzammil of III B.Sc chemistry. The ceremony was conducted by the NCC officer, Lt. Dr. K. Jahir Hussain along with NCC program officers. Dr. A. K. Ibrahim sheriff, Principal in charge delivered the Republic day address and read the National Integration Pledge. About 150 teaching, non-teaching staff & 220 students were participated in the programme. Cadets performed in different camps, activities were awarded with certificates and medals.

The Republic Day on the Campus had been a catchy, colourful and most significant Event with NCC Cadets taking the lead. Hon’ble Secretary and Correspondent, Alijanab S.Z.Abrar Ahmed Saheb, had been magnanimous enough to inspect the Guard of Honour and to unfurl the Pride of the Nation, the Tri-Colour. The College NCC Officer, Dr. K.Jahir Hussain, scattered the fragrant petals of cordial welcome and thanked revered Correspondent for his gracious presence. Dr.A.K.Ibrahim Sheriff, Principal i/c, administered the Day’s Pledge which was repeated, in all sincerity, by the Staff, Students, NCC Cadets, NSS Volunteers and others. In his Republic Day Address, he recalled the memorable sacrifices of Freedom Fighters and presented a verbal survey of the Country’s progress over the years after adopting the Constitution in 1950.

In his NCC Annual Report, the NCC Officer, Dr. K.Jahir Hussain, brought to the notice of the assembly the outstanding merit of the College NCC Cadets who won Medals, Shields, Trophies and Certificates at the State and National Levels. One College Cadet had the honour of participating in the NCC March Past in the Republic Day Parade, New Delhi. The NCC Report had the joy of winning resounding applause from Staff and Students. Dr. A.Mubarak Ali, NSS Programme Officer, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to one and all for making the Event a grand Celebration. The Proceedings came to an end with the playing of the Instrumental Version of the National Anthem. Children, who were the Special Guests, were cheered up with Chocolates and Sweets. The whole assembly was entertained with Sweets, Snacks and Tea as a noble gesture on the historic occasion.
