Extension Activities

  • The College has 3 NSS Units and 3 lecturers are appointed as the NSS Programme Officers. The extension activities undertaken by the NSS volunteers of the College are community development, social work, health and hygiene awareness, medical camp, adult education and literacy, blood donation camp, AIDS awareness, environment awareness etc. Three villages have been adopted for executing extension activities.
  • The extension activities are planned and executed in collaboration with governmental organizations such as the District Collectorate, District Employment office, District Industries Centre, Public Health Department, Police Department, Pollution Control Board, Town Panchayaths and Voluntary Organizations.
  • As the College is located in a rural area, extension and consultancy services are provided to the inhabitants of the nearby areas. Local farmers are enlightened on the benefits and values of organic farming, biological pesticides, bio-control methods, pollution free environment, afforestation and drip irrigation.
  • In the College there is a NCC unit with 155 cadets. During the year 2002-2003, 48 cadets secured B Certificates and 13 cadets secured C Certificates.

Extra Curricular


  • An intercollegiate cultural competition is conducted every year to inculcate good relation among neighboring colleges.
  • Interdepartmental competitions are conducted by various departments of the college. It helps the students to exhibit their talents.
  • To improve the Management skills among the students the Management Fest is been conducted.

Career Guidance


  • The commitment of a teacher towards his students also includes equipping the students to perform well in the competitive world. The cell organizes training programmes for students to improve their soft skills. Experts from various fields and excellent trainers are invited to the college to do this task.

Sports


  • The College has sufficient open playground which is being used for different games. Physical and infrastructural facilities are available for indoor and outdoor games. Facilities are available for indoor games such as Table Tennis, Badminton (Shuttle), Chess, Carroms, Weight Lifting, Power Lifting. There is a 10 station Hydraulic Multi-Gym and a tread mill for doing physical exercises. Materials are made available for outdoor games such as Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, Handball and Ball Badminton. Facilities are also available for track and field events such as long jump, triple jump, high jump, Pole Vault, Shot put, Discuss throw, Hammer throw, Javelin throw, etc. The students participating in sports are provided with travelling and daily allowances, sports kits, track suits etc.
